do you like my tight sweater?

Mood—Silly, Funky, Dancy, Fun!
Sample: "Day For Night"
Thoughts— What got me into Moloko was the 2007 solo album by lead singer Roisin Murphy. I liked them in a hit-or-miss way before that, but now I actively seek out anything by them.
The only thing I really don't like about this album is the cover art. I get it, I just don't like it. I don't think it fits the mood of the album, which is a strange blend of silly, sultry, and sexy. It's not at all childish, which the cover seems to convey.
If you are the type of listener that can be motivated to dance by dirty funk, you'll enjoy Do You Like My Tight Sweater? for sure. In the tradition of funk, the lyrics are often psychedelic and nonsensical. You won't find any emo poetry here... the vocals are very much an instrument.
"Fun For Me" was featured on the Batman Forever soundtrack for some reason. That was likely my introduction to Moloko... which explains why it took me so long to really get into them. If you're not in the right mood, some of the crazier tracks like "Killa Bunnies" and "Party Weirdo" may throw you off. Don't let them! Let yourself get into "Day For Night" and "Ho Humm", and soon enough you'll be singing along to all of them.
Recommended? Very much so.
