electric honey

capitol, 1999

Mood—Relatively laid back.

Sample: "Christine"

Thoughts— I need to be able to come up with bass tracks like Luscious Jackson could.

Was this their last album? I feel like it was. To me it is their best... it's collected, professional, and sounds really good. It's full of fun hooks and of course excellent bass lines.

I don't have a lot to say about this one. It's a great album for putting on at any time if you want to feel good. These are songs you can sing along to in the car. You can play them really loud in your apartment without your neighbors getting pissed. Well, maybe.

There's nothing to dislike about Electric Honey. There isn't a sour note on the disk. My favorite tracks are "Alien Lover", "Sexy Hypnotist" and "Christine"... for their upbeat pace and, of course, the bass!

Recommended? Yes. A very fun and no-stress album.
